Morgan Brady- A Fayetteville native, is the first three-sport athlete FTCC Athletics has ever had.

Morgan is currently in her third year and final semester of the Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Program. To not be too far from home, she decided to attend FTCC after high school to play volleyball for the Trojans and Coach Moe. Not knowing what she wanted to study, her initial thought was to get her general education classes out of the way, while trying to figure out what she wanted to do. She ended up in the 5-semester SLPA program at FTCC.

Her first year with the Trojans volleyball team, she was a part of the record-breaking group that ended the season with 20 wins, the most in school history. Morgan finished her first collegiate athletic season with 195 kills, 34 assisted blocks and 253 points.

Morgan joined the women’s basketball program with a last minute decision in October, with the season set to begin in November. With no lack of athletic ability, she transitioned right into a different sport and ended up being the leading scorer for the 2021-22 season with 170 points.

In year two, she continued to be a part of both the volleyball and women’s basketball programs. The volleyball team kept breaking milestones and building their program finishing the season 18-8, while taking trips to Tennessee and New York.

Once basketball season came to an end, Morgan decided to take on the challenge of collegiate softball. This made her the first athlete in FTCC history to participate in all three women’s sports in the same school year.

“Time management was definitely challenging for me this year, I had no “off-season”. Every day, all year, was a different practice, game, or travel day. Plus, classes for my SLPA program. I found myself becoming best friends with a planner, study hall and the WIFI on the bus. In between workouts at school, I would sit in the library or the gym to knock out a few of my assignments and would use bus rides to study for tests or reviewing chapters for my classes.”

As Morgan is in her third year, she is using her eligibility to play softball in the spring and focus on her last semester of the SPLA program. After this year, she will go straight into working in her field and will eventually further her education to become a Speech-Language Pathologist.

“My hopes for this years softball team is to build on the program’s success from last year. With it being my last team sport ever, I hope to just savor every moment.”

Morgan has accomplished so much with her time spent at FTCC. She will graduate with an associate’s degree in May, while keeping her athletic legacy in the record books.
