Brandon Little, a 2019 graduate of FTCC, is nearing completion of his Pharmacy doctoral program at Campbell University.

Through the use of several FTCC resources and his own hard-earned experience, Little took a fast track that allowed him to skip bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He graduated with an Associate of Science degree from FTCC and immediately entered Campbell’s Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

“I performed really well in my classes and leveraged my retail pharmacy experience to give me an advantage,” Little said. “And I got great letters of recommendations.”

Little said he “lived in” teachers’ offices during their open hours and at the Student Learning Center to study and learn.

“I always felt welcomed when I needed help,” Little said. “It took a village to get me this far and everyone played a role in making me who I am today. I hardly graduated high school, so my learning curve was extremely steep to do as well as I did, but it was because I took advantage of my resources and rebuilt that foundation that set me up for success in a doctorate program.”

He participated in FTCC’s College Transfer Day, which welcomes dozens of recruiters from four-year institutions to inform students about the schools’ programs and opportunities.

“I took advantage of that day where the school brought other universities to campus to have my name and face recognized,” Little said.

Most importantly, Little covered the cost of his education at FTCC through grants, allowing him to go into the PharmD program debt-free.

“It was a true blessing.”

Little expects to finish his doctoral program in 2024. He’s currently doing his clinical rotations with Cape Fear Valley Health.
