Deshawn McCain

Coach Deshawn McCain has served as assistant coach for FTCC men’s basketball since 2019.

He is a native of Creedmore, N.C., where he graduated from South Granville High School. He attended Wilkes Community College and then Ohio Valley University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and a Masters of Education.

McCain’s first coaching job was at Belpre High School in Ohio, where he was on staff two seasons. He also spent two years as an assistant coach at Ohio Valley. McCain returned to his home state of North Carolina in 2016 when he was hired as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Fayetteville State. He served three seasons as an assistant for the Broncos.

Coach McCain is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He has two sons, Malachi and Elijah.
