Certificate Programs

3D Animation

The 3D Animation (C25450H2) program prepares students for entry into the game, film, and digital entertainment industries or for further study in commercial digital arts. Students learn the basics of 3D modeling and animation. They are introduced to texturing and motion capture. 

Credit obtained in these courses transfers directly into the FTCC Associate Degree and/or Diploma in Simulation & Game Development (A25450) program.

Program Requirements

There are no testing requirements for entry into this certificate program. Students must still meet the eligibility requirements for the Career and Technical Education pathways.

Note: Priority enrollment for these courses will go to students enrolled in the Academy of Information Technology programs at Pine Forest and Gray’s Creek High Schools

Computer-Integrated Machining (Basic)

The Basic Computer-Integrated Machining (C50210H1) program is designed to develop fundamental skills in the operation of machine tools including drilling, turning, milling, and grinding. Training in basic measuring, layout, and blueprint reading is also provided. Students will be prepared for employment as entry-level machine operators or machinist apprentices. 

Credit obtained in these courses transfers directly into the FTCC Associate Degree in Computer-Integrated Machining (A50210) program.

There are no testing requirements for entry into this certificate program. Students must still meet the eligibility requirements of the Career and Technical Education pathways.

Note: This is a two-year program. Students must begin this program in their junior year in order to graduate high school with this certificate. Seniors beginning this program can seamlessly transfer into the Basic Computer-Integrated Machining Certificate (C50210C1) program.

Early Childhood Preschool

The Early Childhood Preschool (C55860H) program prepares individuals to work with preschool aged children (3-5) in diverse learning environments. Students will combine learned theories, competency-based knowledge, and practice in actual settings with preschool children.

Credit obtained in these courses transfers directly into the FTCC Associate Degree in General Early Childhood Education (A55220G) program.

Green Sustainable Architecture

The Green Sustainable Architecture (C40100H1) program introduces the concepts and principles related to green site development and architectural design. Students receive instruction in construction document preparation, materials and methods, environmental and structural systems, computer applications, and complete a design project.

Credit obtained in these courses transfers directly into the FTCC Associate Degree in Architectural Technology (A40100) program.

Plumbing (Basic)

The Plumbing (C35300H1) program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level positions in plumbing. Course work includes fundamental practices in plumbing assembly and repair and in basic plumbing codes. Opportunities for employment as plumbing assistants and as parts supply clerks exist throughout the area.

Credit obtained in these courses transfers directly into the FTCC Diploma in Plumbing (D35300) program.

There is no testing required for entry into this certificate program. Students must still meet the eligibility requirements of the Career and Technical Education pathways

Note: This is a two-year, concurrent program. Courses are offered at varying times in the day/evening and transportation is not guaranteed through the CCS system. 

Note: Students who do not complete this program, prior to their high school graduation, can seamlessly transfer into the Basic Plumbing Certificate (C35300C1) program.
