Chris Herring
Department Chair Systems Security & Analysis
Chris has an associate of applied science from Wake Technical Community College and Fayetteville Technical Community College. He also has a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Technology Systems from East Carolina University. Within the field of Technology Chris has twenty-one years job experience with a variety of different organizations. Chris also has several CompTIA, Red Hat, and Palo Alto certifications.
Clifton Oxendine
Full Time Faculty
Clifton Oxendine is an Army veteran and has over 15 years of experience in higher education. Clifton holds an associate of applied science from Robeson Community College, and both a Bachelor degree in Industrial Technology and a Master’s of Science degree in Technology Systems from East Carolina. Clifton also has several industry certifications including CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+.
Darlene F. Wood
Full Time Faculty
Darlene has a Masters of Science in Information Systems. She started working as Network Admin with Novell Networks in 1997, then moved to Microsoft NT networks in early 2000. Darlene began teaching in the areas of networking and security in 2000.
Darryl Carter
Full Time Faculty
Darryl is an instructor for the Transition Technology program that prepares students for CompTIA certification in A+, Network+, and Security+, as well as provides instruction for Linux+/RedHat courses. Darryl also serves as faculty advisor to the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) student club.
Perry Sikes
Full Time Faculty
Perry is a retired Marine Corps veteran. Upon retiring, Perry went to college and graduated with a degree in IT Management from Campbell University. In addition to Campbell University, Perry attended Fayetteville Technical Community College’s Cisco (CCNA) Academy, Wake Technical Community College’s Cisco (CCNP) Academy, Stanly Community College’s VMware and Cisco (CCNA CyberOps) Academies, and Palo Alto’s Academy. Prior to becoming an instructor, Perry served as an IT support manager.
William White
Adjunct Faculty
William is a retired Army veteran. After retirement William attended Fayetteville Technical Community College and graduated with degrees in Information Systems Security and Networking Technology. William has also completed his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Security from Grantham University. Aside from teaching online classes in Security Concepts as an Adjunct Instructor, William currently works for the National Security Agency (NSA) as the Technical Director for IT Operations in the southeast region.
