Volleyball had a big home week, hosting two weekday games and a conference pod on Saturday. They went 4-0 at home and are on a nine game winning streak after finishing this past week. They did not allow their opponents to win one set, taking all four matches 3-0.
They are now 16-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play, putting them third in Region 10 DII Volleyball standings.
FTCC vs. Louisburg: 3-0, Win
On Tuesday night the Trojans opened their weekly play with a conference game against Louisburg College. The Trojans took the first three sets, not allowing the Hurricanes past 22 points.
There were 42 kills for the Trojans in the match; 17 coming from freshman, Kyrie Willis (Cypress, TX). Ella Ferrie (Stanchfield, MN) had 10 kills, three service aces and 15 digs.
Taylor Detrant (Keizer, OR) added 29 assists to her career with 10 digs and five kills. Bre Harrison (Greenwood, SC) also had three service aces along with four blocks. Sammy Harless (St. George, UT) added three blocks and five kills.
FTCC vs. USC-Salkehatchie: 3-0, Win
The Trojans played a nonconference game on Thursday against USC-Salkehatchie. They took the first three sets to win the match.
Willis again led the Trojan offense with 12 kills and three service aces. Harless had nine kills and a block.
Detrant set up 21 kills and had 13 digs to lead the defense.
Farrah Keith (Silverton, OR) and Harrison each had three service aces. Kayloni Eddings (Pembroke, NC) and Willis had two blocks.
FTCC vs. Guilford Tech: 3-0, Win
The Trojans dominated the Titans, holding them to 16, 4 and 11 points in each set.
They had 43 digs, eight coming from Libero, Addie Hudson (Wade, NC). Keith and Emma Smith (Conover, NC) each added seven.
Madison Carter (Benson, NC) set up the offense with 14 assists and Detrant added 12.
Harrison, Ferrie and Eddings lead the Trojan offense each with five kills.
The Trojans had 13 service aces in the match, four coming from Leah Sheppard (Clayton, NC).
FTCC vs. Davidson-Davie: 3-0, Win
The Trojans battled back and forth with the Storm to win the first three sets to get their second conference win of the day.
Gracie Moore (Hendersonville, NC) lead the Trojan defense with 11 digs, Carter added nine.
Ferrie finished the match with 14 kills and three service aces. Willis had 11 kills.
Detrant added 34 assists and eight digs.
Volleyball is home again on Tuesday night when they host Patrick & Henry at 6PM for a nonconference game. They continue conference play on Thursday when they head to Lenoir for a 6PM match and then head to Forsyth Tech on Saturday for another conference pod with games against Wake Tech at 1PM and Forsyth Tech at 3PM.
