My journey in healthcare began with a single step into the Phlebotomy Continuing Education Program at Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC). I was eager to enter the medical field but unsure of where my path would lead. Phlebotomy provided me with a strong foundation, teaching me the importance of patient care, precision, and professionalism. The hands-on training and supportive instructors at FTCC helped me build confidence and develop essential skills that would shape my future.
After successfully completing the program, I realized my passion for medical imaging and decided to take the next step. I enrolled in FTCC’s Radiologic Technology program, knowing it would be a challenging yet rewarding journey. The program was rigorous, requiring dedication and hard work, but the knowledge and experience I gained were invaluable. I had the opportunity to learn from skilled professionals, work with advanced imaging technology, and gain real-world clinical experience.
Upon graduating as a Radiologic Technologist, I was thrilled to accept a position at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. My passion for specialized imaging led me to Special Procedures, where I now work alongside a talented team performing advanced imaging techniques. Every day, I contribute to life-saving procedures, assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients, and continue to grow as a healthcare professional.
Looking back, I am incredibly grateful for FTCC’s programs, the instructors who guided me, and the opportunities that shaped my career. From drawing blood as a phlebotomist to working in Special Procedures as a Radiologic Technologist, my journey proves that with determination and education, dreams can become reality.
