I joined the Army right out of high school because I didn’t think I was smart enough for education. While I was in the Army, everyone was like, ‘You’re too smart to be in the Army.’ I thought I just had common sense, and then I found out it’s not common.

In the summer of 2023, I took Fayetteville Tech’s EMT program through the Army’s SkillBridge program. I realized that I like medicine, but the EMT scope of practice wasn’t enough for me. So I was going to go into the Nursing program, but I’m moving soon to be closer to family. So I decided to complete two associate degrees before I move.

There are amazing instructors here. I’ve made some of the best mentors here, even beyond my time in the Army. There are instructors that I talk to everyday for guidance and mentorship from not only their educational experience, but also in their life story that I’ve been able to correlate with my own journey.
