What to Expect?
You will be greeted by a compassionate counselor who is ready to assist you with your needs. If needed or required, after the first session, your counselor will work with you to develop a personalized plan based on your current concerns. Your counselor is trained to listen and respond with the best tools and resources to help you overcome life’s challenges.
Creative sessions are available, incorporating art therapy, guided meditation, and mindful walking, just to name a few.
Wellness Care Services offers brief, solution-focused counseling. A counselor works with students to determine whether brief counseling will be sufficient to address their concerns. If not, our counselors provide students with referrals to off-campus professionals.
If I come to wellness care services for counseling, can anyone find out about it?
The counseling process is confidential, which means that we cannot release any information about you except under extreme conditions without your consent. If you have concerns or questions, please discuss them with your counselor. To respect confidentiality, we cannot share the reasons why a student may have been seen for more sessions than another student.
