Baseball hosted Pitt Community College in a conference series this past weekend. The Trojans celebrated 16 sophomores before the start of the game on Saturday. 

FTCC vs. Pitt 

Game One- 5-6, Loss

The Bulldogs took the lead early but the Trojans took it back in the fourth. With the game all tied up in the fifth, it was pushed into extra innings when the Bulldogs plated one in the tenth.  

The first Trojan run in the third was a leadoff homerun from Charlie Sindahl (Savannah, GA). 

Three more runs were scored in the fourth to take the lead. Toufic Khabie (Aventura, FL) hit a leadoff double and Lucca Pascarella (Wilmington, NC) singled. JJ Faulkner (East Arcadia, NC) hit an RBI single to left field to plate the first runner. Cole Feldman (Midlothian, VA) laid down a sacrifice bunt to put two runners in scoring position for Devin Outlaw’s (Jacksonville, FL) RBI single. 

The Trojan’s scraped another run across in the bottom to tied it back up at five. Clayton Bloomstran (Atlanta, GA) hit a leadoff double and Zamar Lewis (Dublin, NC) single to put runners on the corners. Khabie picks up an RBI with his single to left field. 

No more runs were scored until the Bulldogs get one across in the top of the tenth. The Trojans threaten in the bottom of the inning, but were unable to score. 

Jack Anderson (Saint Simmons Island, GA) started on the bump throwing four innings. Tommy Parker (St. Pauls, NC) came on in the fifth and threw five innings. Xander Davis (Carolina Beach, NC) came on to throw the tenth. 

The Trojans had 14 hits in the contest, three coming from Outlaw.

Game Two- 6-4, Win

The Trojans took the seven-inning game by getting ahead early. 

Three runs were scored in the bottom of the first. Myles Odom (Pleasant Garden, NC) leadoff with a double and then stole third. He scored on an error by the Bulldogs. Lewis hit one out single and Khabie hit a double to score him. Josiah Harrison (Chesterfield, VA) followed with another double off the fence to score Khabie. 

The Trojans added one to their lead in the second. Outlaw was hit by pitch and advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Odom and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Bloomstran. 

The Bulldogs tied the game up at four in the top of the fifth, but the Trojans took the lead right back in the bottom of the inning. Lewis drew a one out walk and then stole second base and scored on a two out single from Faulkner. 

The Trojans score one more insurance run in the sixth on a solo homerun from Braylan Bull (Cumming, GA). 

Lucas Morgan (Florence, SC) started on the mound throwing 4.1 innings and Griffin Widrig (Boardman, OH) finished the final 2.2 innings.

Game Three- 5-13, Loss (8-innings)

The Trojans scored first but the Bulldogs quickly tied the game up and kept their foot on the gas until the eighth. 

In the first inning, Odom walked and Lewis doubled to score the first run. Harrison singled to score Lewis and Falkner hit an RBI ground ball. 

The Trojans scored two more runs in the bottom of the eight but it was not enough to get out of run-rule territory. Markey Purvis (Bennettsville, SC) was hit by pitch, Evan Walker (Jacksonville, FL) walked and Takoda Hardin (Rockfish, NC) walked to load the bases with one out. Bull singled to center field for one RBI and Odom singled for the other RBI. 

Five arms were used on the mound for the Trojans starting with Jackson Rosser (Broadway, NC).

Baseball is back at home on Tuesday when they host Camp Community College in a nonconference game at 3:30pm. They will then travel to Brunswick Community College for their last conference series of the season Friday and Saturday.
