FAYETTEVILLE, NC – September 10, 2019 – Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) announces participation in AWS Academy, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) program designed to help students successfully acquire the skills and credentials needed for employment in the cloud information technology (IT) workforce. Beginning Spring semester 2020, FTCC students can enroll in courses that will prepare them for careers in the rapidly growing cloud computing space and help them obtain industry-recognized AWS Certifications.

AWS Academy courses help students develop in-demand cloud computing skills and gain hands-on experience while preparing for employment as cloud computing IT professionals and/or advance existing skills through industry-recognized AWS Certification. FTCC offers AWS Academy courses through its Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Security along with other training programs.

Subject-matter experts at AWS develop and maintain the AWS Academy curriculum, ensuring that the courses represent up-to-date services and best practices. Courses are taught by AWS Academy accredited educators who help students become proficient in AWS technology, the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. To become accredited to teach, educators access complimentary AWS professional learning and personal support and achieve AWS Certification.

“Cloud computing has become the new normal for organizations around the world, and the technical skills that students develop through the AWS Academy curriculum will position them well for careers today and in the future,” said FTCC President Dr. Larry Keen. “We are extremely proud to be among the institutions across the country and in North Carolina that offer AWS Academy courses to train students for good jobs in the tech industry.”
