FAYETTEVILLE, NC – January 11, 2018 – Students with an associate degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) will have a more affordable and flexible option to earn a bachelor’s degree, thanks to a partnership announced with Herzing University.

Herzing University is an accredited private nonprofit institution with 10 campuses in seven states, and an acclaimed online division. Following completion of an associate degree and application to Herzing’s DEGREE UP program, students can pursue credit form both FTCC and Herzing University simultaneously. The partnership will allow students to take advantage of FTCC’s tuition rates for many required bachelor’s-level courses, making the next stage in their education more affordable.

“This partnership provides a clear pathway for students to continue their education in nursing, business, healthcare and technology,” said Dr. Larry Keen, President, Fayetteville Technical Community College. “They can easily transfer their FTCC credits into a bachelor’s degree program at Herzing.”

DEGREE UP students will take their courses from Herzing University Online. The end result is both an associate degree from FTCC and a bachelor’s degree from Herzing University. Herzing offers classes in spring, summer and fall semesters, allowing students to quickly earn the degree. For Herzing University, the DEGREE UP program serves as a nationwide model for career-focused education.

“Our goal is to give all students an equal opportunity to pursue competitive, career-ready degrees,” said Dr. Michael Bankey, Vice President of Community Partnerships and Veteran Affairs Herzing University. “This is our first DEGREE UP partnership in North Carolina, and we’re excited to provide these students an efficient route to a bachelor’s degree, without having to worry about a difficult transition between schools.”
